山田 愛 / Ai Yamada
1992年京都府生まれ。社寺建築や墓石を手がける石材店に生まれ育つ。2017年、東京藝術大学大学院美術 研究科先端藝術表現専攻修了。石を磨いて本来の美しさをとり戻すことや、石を在るべき処へ据えることを、制作の中心としている。石を用いたインスタレーションを主な手法とし、根源的な地点へ誘う鑑賞体験を目指す。
Born in 1992, Kyoto, in a family of stonemasons working on shrine and temple constructions and tombstones. She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of the Arts Department of Inter-media Art in 2017. She is a stone artist who focuses on polishing stones to restore their original beauty and placing them in their rightful locations. Installations incorporating stones as her principle practice, she aims to evoke a viewing experience which invites the visitors to their primordial moment.
